Two Large Writing Surfaces (e.g., White Board split in half or large sheets of butcher block paper)

If you have only one writing surface, have teams take turns sending up a player to draw. 

 

Two thick tip markers (I use black so it is easy to see)

Timer - optional

 

 

Directions

 

1. Split students into groups of 4-5 persons or half the class.

 

2. One member of each team goes to the front of the class and takes a look at the word chosen by the teacher. 

 

3. Students do not start to draw on the board/paper until the teacher gives the signal.

 

4. If using a timer, start at the signal.

 

5. The first group to guess the correct answer within the pre-determined time frame wins that round.

 

6. Points are tally marks, and there is one point for each round.
